Joe Burrow Hopes to Put an End to This Insane Streak in Week 1

Joe Burrow comes into his rookie season as one of the most-hyped quarterbacks in recent memory. While most No. 1 overall picks arrive on a team fairly devoid of talent, that's not the case for Burrow and this Cincinnati Bengals' offense.
With skill-position players around him like Joe Mixon, A.J. Green, John Ross and Tyler Boyd, Burrow comes in with a supporting cast built for him to succeed right away. However, getting a Week 1 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers could prove to be much tougher than it seems.
In fact, each of the last 12 quarterbacks to be taken No. 1 overall have lost their NFL debut.
A streak Joe Burrow and the Bengals hope to put an end to: the last 12 QBs taken first overall did not win their first NFL start. The last to win was David Carr with the Texans in 2002.

It's pretty crazy to think about all of the QBs that have been taken No.1 overall during that span, including names like Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton and Kyler Murray to name a few. Ironically, the last player to get a win under such circumstances was David Carr, back in 2002.
Burrow will be up against a talented Chargers' defense, albeit without its star safety Derwin James. Regardless, this stat shows Burrow will have his hands full come Sunday.
