In the biggest college football matchup of the season, the No. 2 LSU Tigers will take on the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa this afternoon. These two teams are led by talented Heisman candidates at quarterback.
Heading into Saturday's game, LSU's Joe Burrow (+140) is the favorite over Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa (+280) as well as former Alabama and current Oklahoma Sooners' QB Jalen Hurts (+260), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Burrow's stats back up his place atop the Heisman odds. He's passed for 2,805 yards (No. 3 in NCAAF) and has completed an incredible 78.8 percent of his passes, which leads all other Division 1 QBs by more than four percent. Burrow is also second in the nation in passing touchdowns, with 30, while throwing just four interceptions.
Playing one game less than Burrow, Tua has also been impressive this season. He's completed 74.7 percent of his passes for 2,166 yards, 27 touchdowns and two interceptions.
Between the LSU and Alabama quarterbacks in the Heisman odds is Hurts, who is making a case for an Oklahoma quarterback to win the award for a third straight season. He has totaled 2,469 yards and 21 touchdowns through the air to go along with 801 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
Chase Young Heisman Odds
With LSU and Alabama squaring off today, both Burrow and Tua will be on the national stage, meaning a terrific performance (or a poor one) could swing the pendulum in one direction or another. We'll just have to wait and see the outcome of the game as the Heisman odds are sure to shift following the most anticipated game of the 2019 college football season.
