Jimmy Nelson is set to return to the Milwaukee Brewers' rotation on Wednesday night, after missing the entire 2018 season due to shoulder surgery. While the right-hander was already a viable fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup, the news of another starting pitcher, Carlos Carrasco, being placed on the 10-day injured list with a non-baseball medical condition, makes Nelson a solid streaming option against the Miami Marlins tonight.

Nelson had an extended rehab assignment to start the 2019 season, with tonight being his first MLB start since Sept. 8, 2017. He was in the midst of a breakout season at the time, having already compiled a 12-6 record with a 3.49 ERA and 199 strikeouts in 175 1/3 innings.

The righty returns to a Brewers team that has changed dramatically since 2017, mostly due to the acquisition of reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich. The new and improved lineup that will now be backing Nelson only adds to his potential fantasy value, both as a streamer and for the remainder of the season.

Picking up a pitcher like Nelson, with his first start coming against the Marlins at home tonight, should at least help ease the pain of losing an ace like Carrasco from your fantasy team. Get him in your lineup for a likely quality spot start this evening.
