There were a lot of people who felt this NFL season should've never been played. With all the complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the idea of playing a season seemed trivial – and perhaps unrealistic.

And those concerns were once again brought to the forefront in Week 12. The Denver Broncos were forced to take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday without any members of their QB room due to covid protocols. The game wasn't pretty.

And Jim Mora Sr., who has significant ties to both teams, had an emotional reaction to the decision to play.

It was a fiasco... It shouldn't have happened... I almost cried.

Jim Mora Sr.

Mora, a former head coach of the Saints, used to employ current Broncos' head coach Vic Fangio as his defensive coordinator.

He clearly felt that the league should've stepped in, as it has done many times this season.

With the entire QB room ruled out, Denver was forced to start Kendall Hinton at QB. Hinton, who plays wide receiver on the team's practice squad, completed 1-of-9 attempts for 13 yards and 2 INTs. Denver went on to lose, 31-3.

This isn't a knock against Hinton, who was thrust into an impossible situation. But it's a situation he never should've been put in in the first place. It's hard to argue with Mora's point there.
