Jets Player Begins to Recruit Aaron Rodgers Amid Trade Rumors

The 2023 NFL offseason will be a bit of déjà vu for Green Bay Packers fans. After another disappointing finish, arguably their most disappointing through Aaron Rodgers' career, the questions around his future at Lambeau are already flying.

Given the years remaining on his contract, moving Rodgers would require a trade, but Packers fans understand he'll have a certain say in the matter - does he want to play for the team or force a departure elsewhere?

And one team is already taking advantage of this situation. One New York Jets star has already begun recruiting Rodgers to the Big Apple.

All-Pro rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner made an appearance on ESPN's radio program “Fitz and Harry" to sell his recruitment pitch.

When asked about Rodgers as a player, Gardner said "He's definitely great. He's definitely elite. He's been doing it [since] damn near before I was born. I can't discredit nothing that he do. I've seen him do so many good things. He's a great quarterback for sure."

Sauce then expanded on the praise by saying "I mean, you know, I would. I wouldn't mind that," when asked about the prospect of Rodgers heading to NYC.

It's a soft-sell from Gardner. Not only does he praise the greatness of Rodgers, stroking the quarterback's ego in the process, but let him know clearly that he wants them to join sides.
