Jesse Winker Opens Up About New Chapter With Brewers

If there was anyone who need a change of scenery this offseason, it was Jesse Winker.
Winker desperately needed a fresh start after slogging through the worst season of his career last year with the Seattle Mariners. The 2021 All-Star cratered at the plate, slashing just .219/.344/.344 with the most strikeouts of his career (103).
Now with the Milwaukee Brewers, Winker is looking forward to the next chapter of his career.
Jesse Winker joined @MLBNetwork and shared his mindset on coming to Milwaukee.

"I’ve always enjoyed going to Milwaukee and playing. I love the city and I'm excited to get there and get started with everybody"

Appearing on MLB Network on Friday, Winker expressed his appreciation for Milwaukee, saying that he loves the city and enjoys playing there.
The Brewers are hopeful the new surroundings can help Winker get back on track after trading second baseman Kolten Wong for him. Even with last year factored in, the 29-year-old outfielder still owns an impressive career .270/.374/.463 batting line.
Winker's swing just wasn't right in 2022, but down seasons happen. He should also be extra motivated to perform this year to prove he'll be worth a big contract when he reaches free agency next winter.
For now though, he'll try to focus on helping his new team reach the postseason after missing the playoffs for the first time in five years last season. Milwaukee currently has the 17th-best odds of winning the 2023 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
