Jaylen Waddle Reveals His Choice Between Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa
Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is one of a few Alabama players expected to go in the first round of April's NFL Draft. One of those players is Crimson Tide quarterback Mac Jones, who will likely follow former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and be one of the first prospects off of the board.
Waddle played with both quarterbacks during his time in Tuscaloosa, and the wideout recently gave his pick between the two.
Waddle was complimentary to both, but he made his choice clear with Jones. It's intriguing that he is the second Alabama WR to choose Jones in this scenario, as Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith had the same choice when asked at the Senior Bowl.
It might not be too surprising of a pick for Waddle, though, since he and Jones both first suited up for the Tide in 2018 as freshmen. Waddle caught 88 passes for 1,408 yards and 13 TDs during his two years with Tagovailoa as Alabama's QB, compared to 28 receptions for 591 yards and 4 scores with Jones.
While this may cause the Miami Dolphins to think twice about selecting him at No. 3 overall, doing Jones a solid and heaping praise on to him before April's draft is likely Waddle's main objective here.
