Alabama's Jameson Williams was arguably the top collegiate wide receiver heading into the 2022 NFL Draft until he suffered a torn ACL in the National Championship Game, putting his first-round draft stock in jeopardy.

A safe timeline is 12 months to recover from that injury, which would cause him to miss nearly the entirety of his rookie season. Six weeks after surgery, though, things seem to be ahead of schedule.

Jameson Williams Injury Update

A video posted by Williams' agency shows him working out, doing some rehab drills with his surgically repaired knee already on the mend.

Jameson Williams Draft Projection

Williams is still expected to fall in the draft compared to his projections pre-injury, but many believe he will still be a first-round pick. There are plenty of talented teams in the middle or late first round that need a wide receiver, but are good enough to wait for Williams' recovery.

That's why it's no surprise to see the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers as teams who made it a priority to speak with Williams at the combine.

And if his recovery continues ahead of schedule, they might even see him suit up in 2022.
