Best Remaining Destinations for James Conner in Free Agency
By michael obermuller

James Conner had a career season taking over for Le'Veon Bell in 2018, but he has struggled to remain as consistent since. Although Conner's yards per carry figure has hovered right around a 4.3 clip his entire career, he's had trouble staying on the field.
It's looking unlikely that he'll be back with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. If he signs elsewhere, here are the three destinations that make the most sense.
3. Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers could use another running back option behind Austin Ekeler. This new coaching staff may want to upgrade on Joshua Kelley (3.2 yards per carry in 2020) and Justin Jackson, who struggled to stay on the field. Conner could slide into a roster spot as a running back that can help lighten Ekeler's load.
2. New York Jets
With plenty of cap space and no clear starting running back, the New York Jets would be a perfect destination for Conner. Some have speculated that the Jets might draft a RB, but Conner could still complement a rookie if the situation arose. He'd be a nice body to add to the Jets' RB rotation.
1. Arizona Cardinals
If the Arizona Cardinals miss out on an option like Leonard Fournette, Conner might be the perfect consolation prize. His early-down ability would pair nicely with Chase Edmonds as the Cardinals look to replace Kenyan Drake. This Arizona team has gone all-in on a playoff run this offseason, but the Cards are still missing a piece in the backfield. Conner has the right skillset to shine in Kliff Kingsbury's offense.
