Jamaal Williams Fantasy Value Quietly Approaching Aaron Jones' With Similar Workload

The Green Bay Packers sit atop the competitive NFC North, winning games while leaning on their rushing attack. While Aaron Jones is the running back making headlines, the gap between he and stablemate Jamaal Williams may be closer than you think, as far as fantasy football value goes.

Jones is the flashier player of the two, which is part of why he has been valued so much higher than Williams since the two entered the NFL. However, Williams continues to see close to the same workload as Jones when the two are healthy.

In the four full games the two have played together this season, Jones has played roughly 52 percent of the snaps, compared to Williams' 49 percent. Jones has out-touches Williams 67 to 51, but Williams continues to get more work in the passing game than Jones.

Williams has run 72 routes to Jones' 64, and if he continues to rush as well as he did last week (14 carries for 104 yards), Williams could start to see some increased volume on the ground as well.

Jones had a couple of huge games with Williams on the shelf, and his big-play ability continues to make him the superior fantasy option. Williams is rapidly closing the gap, though, especially with that big game in his return from injury. With a great matchup on tap Sunday, both are viable fantasy options, with Jones sitting at RB10 while Williams isn't far behind at RB36 in our Week 7 PPR fantasy football rankings.
