VIDEO: First Look at Trevor Lawrence in Jags' Rookie Minicamp

For most NFL fans, there's a lot to be excited about heading into the 2021 season. However, fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars are likely chomping at the bit to get next year's NFL season kicked off. One of the many reasons Jaguars fans are excited, aside from a new head coach in Urban Meyer, is the transition to Trevor Lawrence at quarterback.
Lawrence, the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has been a presumptive No. 1 draft pick since his very first days at Clemson. He was the prototype build and mental makeup for an NFL quarterback and he enjoyed a ton of success in college. After all, he led Clemson to a 34-2 overall record in his three years under center.
Jacksonville fans got their first real taste of witnessing the next franchise quarterback on Sunday at the team's rookie minicamp.

Yes, the video is shot from far away and it may even be hard to tell which one is Lawrence (he's the guy in the red shirt to the left of the screen). But, as Jaguars' beat reporter John Reid points out, the biggest takeaway from this video is a glimpse at Lawrence's accuracy and ability to get the ball out quickly. Both of those traits will help him throughout his rookie season transitioning to pro ball.
That's especially exciting considering he's recovering from surgery on his non-throwing shoulder.
Lawrence completed better than 66 percent of his passes throughout college en route to 10,000+ yards passing in those three seasons. He also owned an insane 164.3 total QB rating. The skills are absolutely there and FanDuel Sportsbook agrees. According to recent NFL odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, Lawrence's 2021 MVP odds are shockingly high at +9000 (keep in mind - he's a rookie).
