Nothing is going right for the Jacksonville Jaguars so far in the 2021 NFL season. Head coach Urban Meyer is surrounded by controversy and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence has not looked sharp. Add on top of that a 0-5 record and fans can't help but start pointing fingers around the organization.
Well, it doesn't help that the team cannot find a reliable kicker in the special teams unit. the Jaguars have yet to make a field goal this season and have also missed three extra points. Those points left on the board turn out to be crucial given Jacksonville's struggle to get in the end zone.
It is notable to point out that three of the team's five field goals attempted have been from beyond 50 yards. However, it is still not a great start for veteran Josh Lambo or Matthew Wright. It has to be a surprise given the success Lambo had with the Jaguars throughout the last few seasons.
Lambo made 76 of 80 field goals for the Jaguars from 2017-2020, but struggled with injuries last year. The 30-year-old has worked his way back from a hip injury. Meanwhile, second-year pro Wright has been on and off the practice squad this year and missed his only FGA of the season in Week 5.
The Jaguars will look to figure out their issues and grab their first victory of the season when they head to London to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 NFL action. Jacksonville is slated as a 3-point underdog in that one, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
