Mets' Jacob deGrom Injury Update is Concerning

New York Mets fans must hold their breath once again after hearing some concerning news regarding Jacob deGrom's latest injury update.
deGrom is headed to the 10-day injured list with right side tightness. With his dominant start to the 2021 MLB season, this is exactly what the Mets didn't want to happen.

deGrom's injury updates have sent the Mets and their fans on a roller coaster over the past week. It started off with the superstar pitcher getting scratched from a scheduled start last week with lat inflammation.
Jacob deGrom Injury News
New York rejoiced when deGrom bounced back for his next scheduled start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. The return was pretty up to par with the rest of deGrom's untouchable performances this season. He threw five innings, allowing only one hit and one earned run.
But, then came some more bad news. New York removed deGrom from the ballgame following his warmup ahead of the sixth. He underwent an MRI last night, which came back clean, but the Mets decided to place deGrom on the 10-day IL as a precaution.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner should be back in time for his next scheduled start, as long as everything goes according to plan. This news is particularly concerning, because it's an issue that deGrom has been dealing with since the beginning of the season, according to the Mets broadcast on Sunday.
Naturally, New York does not want to see their superstar ace miss any additional time. He's been nearly un-hittable this season, posting a 0.68 ERA in six starts, along with 65 strikeouts in 40 innings of work.
As it stands, the Mets own +950 odds to win the 2021 World Series, according to MLB odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook.
