Denver Broncos right tackle Ja'Wuan James recently suffered an Achilles injury while working out and preparing for next season. Luckily, a positive injury update has been released explaining how it might not be as bad as first expected.

Ja'Wuan James Injury Update

James was expected to be out for the entire 2021 season with a torn Achilles, but it looks like he may be able to return in the late stages if everything goes well. The Broncos could really use him out on the field as he was brought in to be a player they could count on to protect the quarterback.

The veteran has struggled to stay healthy after signing a four-year, $51 million contract with Denver in 2019. He played in just three games the following season, then opted out in 2020.

James will undergo surgery later this week and his recovery timetable will be better known after that. Backup left tackle Calvin Anderson will likely be called upon to move over to the right side of the offensive line and fill in for James. He started two games for Denver last season.

Broncos general manager George Paton just finished up his first NFL Draft with the team, but his work with the roster is certainly not done yet.
