The New York Islanders are getting hot at the right time and the oddsmakers have seemingly taken notice. Thanks to a convincing series sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the playoffs, the Islanders (+550) now own the best odds to take home the Stanley Cup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals (+600) have the second-best odds, while the Columbus Blue Jackets (+700) boast the third-best odds of the teams remaining in the playoff field.

The Blue Jackets, who pulled off one of the biggest postseason upsets in NHL history in sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning, have seen their odds increase ever so slightly since last week.

The Calgary Flames, who finished the regular season as the top seed in the Western Conference, are just one loss away from being eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche (+1600). As a result, Calgary has seen its odds of winning the 2019 Stanley Cup fall off a cliff.

The Toronto Maple Leafs (+1400), on the other hand, have seen their odds drop by 450 points since Wednesday after failing to hold home ice against the Boston Bruins (+1200).

As long as these upsets keep coming, the odds are bound to continue reflecting drastic shifts with each round.
