Cleveland Browns fans should never want to hear the name Hue Jackson again, but the former head coach is still making headlines years after his firing.

Despite owning one of the worst coaching records in NFL history, Jackson is reportedly still receiving money from the Browns organization.

Cleveland Browns News

Jackson hinted earlier in the offseason that the Browns may have incentivized to tank, and now the organization has reportedly threatened to stop paying him if he continues down that road. But that might not even be the worst part.

The fact that, three and a half years after his firing, Cleveland is still on the hook to pay Jackson anything at all after he led the team to a 3-36-1 record over two-plus seasons is insane.

It's not like Cleveland was just okay during Jackson's tenure as head coach. The Browns were easily the worst team in the entire league and even became the second team in NFL history to go winless over the course of an entire season (2016). There were really no positive outcomes in those years.

While the amount of money remains undisclosed, it certainly hurts the Browns to be shelling out any level of cash to a disgruntled former coach. The Browns finally got back into the playoffs in 2020 and now have their eyes set on new quarterback Deshaun Watson guiding them to the promised land.

Cleveland currently has +1900 odds to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
