Huascar Ynoa Joins Babe Ruth With Incredible Stat

The MLB world is fascinated by the two-way performances of Shohei Ohtani. After all, he's the first player in MLB history to compete seriously as both a pitcher and hitter since Babe Ruth.
However, a new name is grabbing the attention of MLB fans in Huascar Ynoa.
Ynoa doesn't seriously compete as a hitter in the same fashion that Ohtani does. But, the Atlanta Braves may want to consider giving their starting pitcher a few more at-bats. He's forced to hit playing in the National League and it's been a blessing in disguise for the Braves.
Over his last 4 starts, Huascar Ynoa of the @Braves has a 1.11 ERA on the mound and a 1.300 slugging percentage at the plate.

He's the first player to have a 1.300+ slugging percentage and a sub-1.30 ERA over a span of 4 pitching starts (min. 10 PA) since Babe Ruth in 1916.
On Sunday, Ynoa joined rare company with this incredible stat. He became just the first player since the Great Bambino to record a 1.300+ slugging percentage and a sub-1.30 ERA over the span of four pitching starts. Incredible.
Ynoa won his fourth game of the year yesterday, and he owns a 2.23 ERA in 2021. The 22-year-old right-hander took his game to the next level over his past four starts, only allowing three earned runs in 24.1 innings pitching. That's good for a 1.12 ERA during that span.
The hitting performances in that span have been legendary. In that same span, Ynoa has recorded six hits in 10 plate appearances including a grand slam against the Washington Nationals last week.
