Here's How the Bills Can Clinch the AFC East in Week 18

The Buffalo Bills have already clinched an NFL playoff berth for the third consecutive season, but one goal remains unaccomplished. Head coach Sean McDermott's team has their eyes set on winning the AFC East division and have an opportunity to do so heading into the final week of the regular season.

Bills AFC East
It's rather simple in this situation. All the Bills have to do to clinch their second straight division title is win in Week 18 due to the tiebreaker they own over the New England Patriots. Buffalo is currently slated as a 16.5-point home favorite over the New York Jets, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Bills had no trouble taking care of business when they took on the Jets back in Week 10. Quarterback Josh Allen passed for 366 yards and 2 touchdowns in a blowout win. Buffalo also tallied for 4 touchdowns on the ground in what ended up being a final score of 45-17.
If Buffalo falls victim to a major upset, their chances of finishing atop the division take a substantial hit. The Bills would need the Patriots to lose to the Miami Dolphins in order to stay ahead. It's an unlikely outcome given New England heads into that matchup as 7-point road favorites.
There is one more scenario, but it's a doozy. The Bills would clinch the AFC East if they tie against the Jets and the Patriots also tie against the Dolphins. Of course, the likelihood of that happening is astronomically low. However, this NFL season has shown that anything can happen.
Buffalo controls their own destiny within the division and have a shot to earn a home playoff game. That should be all the motivation they need when kick off starts at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday, Jan. 9.
