College football bowl season is finally here. One intriguing matchup this year is the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl, which will pit the UCLA Bruins against the NC State Wolfpack.

The Holiday Bowl has been played since 1978. It has featured teams from the Pac-12, Big 12, Big Ten, ACC conferences and more.

UCLA has made one appearance in this bowl game. The Bruins lost to the Baylor Bears, 49-26, in the 2012 Holiday Bowl.

NC State has has never appeared in this bowl game. The Wolfpack lost to the Kentucky Wildcats, 23-21, in the 2021 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, their last bowl game appearance.
