Here's How the Saints Can Clinch a Playoff Spot

At just 6-9, the New Orleans Saints are far from a perfect football team. Fortunately for them they play in the NFC South, so their playoff hopes are still very much alive heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.

Three of the four NFC South squads still have a path to the playoffs, which would come in the form of a division title. The Saints need the most help of these three, but fans have a clear picture of their playoff-clinching scenario.

New Orleans Saints Playoff Odds

New Orleans needs to get a pair of wins against the Philadelphia Eagles (in Week 17) and the Carolina Panthers (in Week 18). The Eagles are, by far, the tougher of those two matchups. Philadelphia still leads the NFL with its 13-2 mark and is considered an early 7-point home favorite according to the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Eagles are still dealing with an injury to quarterback Jalen Hurts, however, and his status for Sunday's tilt remains up in the air after not playing in Week 16.

New Orleans lost to Carolina earlier this year, but gets to play the regular season finale at home.

Not only do the Saints need to win both of their next two games, but they also need the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to drop both of theirs. The Buccaneers host the Panthers in Week 17 before traveling to take on the Atlanta Falcons in their season finale.
