The NFL season is already past the midway point and some head coaches are beginning to feel the heat of the hot seat. Vic Fangio has to be included in that discussion given he is in his third year as the Broncos' leader and has yet to guide his team to a playoff berth.

The Broncos got off to an impressive 3-0 start this season, but have stumbled to a 5-5 record and are falling out of postseason contention with every week that passes. With that in mind, here are three coaches Denver can consider hiring to replace Vic Fangio this offseason.

Vic Fangio Replacements

1. Todd Bowles, Defensive Coordinator, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Denver is a team that has always been built around a strong defense. That's why it would make a lot of sense for the front office to target a defensive-minded coach. Todd Bowles fits that role to a tee as he has excelled at building one of the most dominant defenses in the NFL during his time spent in Tampa Bay. While his prior head coaching experience may not have seen much success, that experience alone can be seen as an advantage. Bowles has the skills to transform a defense that features a number of young stars including Justin Simmons and Patrick Surtain.

2. Greg Roman, Offensive Coordinator, Baltimore Ravens

On the other side, Greg Roman of the Baltimore Ravens is expected to be one of the best offensive-minded coaches up for grabs in the offseason. The long-time coordinator has shown an ability to build an offense around his starting quarterback's skills (Lamar Jackson) and that could come in handy if the Broncos decide to draft a player at that position. Roman's offenses have consistently ranked amongst the league's best in total yards per game over the years. Hiring the 49-year-old could be just the spark this team is looking for.

3. Dennis Allen, Defensive Coordinator, New Orleans Saints

One other veteran defensive-minded option that makes sense in Denver is Dennis Allen. The New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator has grown a lot under head coach Sean Payton and would be motivated to prove that his stint in Oakland is not representative of his true abilities. The Broncos have shown a history of hiring experienced leaders over young hot-shots, which bodes well for Allen's chances here. The Saints have posted a top-five DVOA rating this NFL season and Allen deserves credit for that. He's an underrated target that could end up as a steal.
