This has been a wild year for most everyone in the world, but 2020 was especially a roller coaster for Ohio State Buckeyes defensive tackle Haskell Garrett.
On top of COVID-19 originally cancelling the 2020 Big Ten football season, Garrett's own 2020 season and life itself were nearly cancelled in September after this young man was shot in the face.
Despite sustaining this injury shortly before the 2020 season was set to begin, Garrett never missed a single snap from it, and put together an incredibly impactful year on the field for the Buckeyes as well.
And now he's headed back to Columbus for another season in 2021 before taking that next step to the NFL.
Garrett played in all eight of Ohio State's games this season with the shortened schedule, totaling 20 tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss with 2.0 sacks and one interception that he returned for a touchdown as well.
Standing at a stout 300 pounds at 6-foot-2, he's also a veteran run-stopper in the teeth of Ohio State's returning defense.
With the Buckeyes set to lose yet another wave of talent to the NFL in 2021 between stars like Justin Fields and Shaun Wade making that leap, Garrett's return to Columbus is both an exciting and welcomed announcement for the Ohio State faithful.
