The UCLA Bruins have become synonymous with the NCAA Tournament for well over 60 years at this point. Regardless of who's on the roster, the Bruins find ways to go on deep runs, proven by their reaching the Sweet 16 this year.

Despite being discussed as a conference contender, though, March Madness success has eluded UCLA in recent years.

If all goes to plan, would this be the first time that UCLA fans celebrate a national championship victory?

San Diego State National Championship History

UCLA has won a record 11 NCAA men's basketball National Championships dating back to 1964. The Bruins took home the title in the following years: 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975 and 1995.

On top of their 11 titles, the Bruins have also been the runners-up twice. UCLA finished second to Louisville in 1980 — an appearance that was vacated due to NCAA sanctions — before falling to Florida in the 2006 finals.

Though this year marks UCLA's third consecutive Sweet 16 appearance, the program has only made it to the Elite 8 once since 2009. With it being 28 years since their last National Championship, it remains to be seen if the Bruins have what it takes to return to glory.
