The Georgia Bulldogs enjoyed a lot of success throughout the 2021 NCAA college football season. A 12-1 record landed them as the No. 3-ranked team and now they're slated to face the Michigan Wolverines in a College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Orange Bowl.

As of Friday, Georgia has the second-best odds (+140) to win a National Championship this season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Has Georgia Ever Won a National Championship?

Nevertheless, would winning a championship be a new experience for Bulldogs fans?

Georgia National Championship History

Georgia has two claimed national titles from 1942 and 1980. In the modern College Football Playoff era, the Bulldogs' best finish came in 2018 when they lost to Alabama in overtime in the finals.

That appearance was Georgia's only time qualifying for the CFP before this season. And just like they are this year, the Bulldogs were also the No. 3 seed, so only time will tell if they can have a better ending this time around.

FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting Georgia to advance past Michigan in the semifinals, listing the Bulldogs as the decisive 7.5-point favorites on Friday.
