3 Hardest Games on the Raiders Schedule in 2022

The Las Vegas Raiders have made several moves this NFL offseason in order to take the next step from being a middle-of-the-road team to becoming a Super Bowl contender. Although the improvements look promising on paper, time will tell if the changes produce real results.

It's unknown what the Raiders' 2022 schedule will look like just yet, but fans already know which teams the 'Black and Silver' will be up against. It's going to be a tough year, with ESPN's Mike Clay listing Las Vegas as having the fourth-toughest schedule come September.

Taking their upcoming opponents into account, here's a look at the three hardest games on the Raiders' schedule in 2022.

1. @ Los Angeles Rams

The measuring test for the Raiders in 2022 will likely come when they face the defending Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams. It goes without saying that the Rams are elite at just about every asset of their game and the matchup will only be more difficult with Las Vegas being forced to play it on the road. Although the Rams were 5-3 at home during the regular season, they went a perfect 3-0 at SoFi Stadium during the playoffs. Even with the Raiders' offseason improvements, it's going to be difficult to defeat the champs in Los Angeles.

2. @/vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Being stuck in the AFC West means that the Raiders have the pleasure of facing the Kansas City Chiefs twice a year. Las Vegas has had its fair share of struggles against Kansas City, losing both of last season's matchups against its rivals. In fact, the Raiders are 1-8 in their last nine games against the Chiefs, with seven of those losses coming against Patrick Mahomes, who's averaging almost 320 passing yards and nearly three touchdowns in his last eight games against Las Vegas. Until the Raiders prove otherwise, it's clear that the Chiefs have their number.

3. vs. San Francisco 49ers

Another difficult matchup on the Raiders' schedule will be when they host the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are a top-10 pick to win Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and should pose a difficult challenge to Las Vegas due to their dynamic offense and elite defense. It also doesn't help that the Raiders only have one victory in their last fiving outings against the 49ers, being outscored by an average of 24.2-15.2. A victory by Las Vegas would lead to the team being taken more seriously, but winning is always a tough task against a quality opponent like San Francisco.
