The Gulfstream Championship Meet continues this week, and starting at 12:10 p.m. ET on Wednesday we have nine races.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, monitor the weather and keep an eye on the track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races after adjusting for track, distances, and conditions).

Lay the Groundwork (7/2) is a contender and top pick by numberFire's data with top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding. Sals Dream Girl (4/1) fits well returning to the turf with top jockey Luis Saez riding.

Top Race Reports also makes a case for Charmed Way (8/1) with Joel Rosario moving to the turf and cutting back to 1 mile.

Race 8 is an Allowance race for state-bred 3-year-old fillies sprinting 6 furlongs. The top two selections according to the numberFire data are Munnys Gold (4/5) and Hihellohowareyou (3/1). Top jockeys and brothers Irad Ortiz, Jr. and Jose Ortiz ride.

Munnys Gold had a maiden win last summer by 14 lengths with a top-105 speed figure but hasn't raced since. Hihellohowareyou is right back on schedule with solid morning work after winning her debut last month by 5 lengths as the betting favorite. Jolly Miss Jill (5/1) breaks from the rail with first-time Lasix and also won her debut race last month at longer odds.
