Greg Olsen was coming off his worst game of the 2019 season, turning four targets into only two receptions and five yards in Week 4. Things got even worse in Week 5 when he saw two targets, and was unable to haul in either one. The tight end posted a zero in the fantasy-scoring department, despite the Panthers' offense eclipsing 28 points for the second time this season.

Is Greg Olsen Injured?

Olsen did not suffer an injury in Week 5 – he simply was a non-factor for the Panthers, despite attempting more than 30 passes on the day. This could be a bad sign for things to come for his fantasy football owners.

The veteran tight end looked like he might still be an every-week starter with a couple of big games in Weeks 2 and 3, combining for 12 receptions, 185 yards and two touchdowns. That came in two easy matchups though, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals.

With two absolute duds in a row, it's becoming more clear that Olsen shouldn't be considered more than a matchup-dependent streaming option at the tight end position in most leagues.

Olsen does get another crack at the Bucs in Week 6, so it may not be time to drop him just yet. After that, the Panthers get a bye week, followed by a tough matchup with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8. If you're not starting Olsen next week, then dropping him and grabbing another TE could be the savvy move here.
