Giants Fans Will Love Todd McShay's First 2023 NFL Mock Draft
By Larry Rupp

The New York Giants hinted that the Daniel Jones experiment at quarterback could be over soon when they declined to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2023 season. Fans will be glad to hear Todd McShay echoed that projection in the first round of his 2023 mock draft with an exciting selection.
WAY-too-early 2023 Mock Draft is here! Shaping up to be an exciting class of QBs (5 in this first round projection), WRs (5), RBs (2) and DL (6). Two reminders: 1. I did not create the draft order! 2. Prospects should not base future decisions on this! https://t.co/YLfv5eESGN

McShay expects the Giants to start over at the QB position by taking Kentucky's Will Levis with the No. 8 overall pick. Jones has one more shot to prove he has what it takes to win in the NFL, but his career record of 12-25 leaves a lot to be desired. Fans can only wait for improvement for so long.
Levis is by no means a polished quarterback at this point of his college career. McShay was quick to mention that he sees some of the same traits that Pro Bowler Josh Allen possesses, though. The 22-year-old has a big frame (6-foot-3, 232 pounds) and an ability to launch the ball deep down the field.
The Wildcats standout got his first chance at a starting gig in 2021 and ended up completing 66.0% of his pass attempts for 2,826 yards and 24 touchdowns (13 interceptions). Levis also showcased some wheels by adding 376 yards on the ground to go along with 9 rushing touchdowns.
The fact that Levis played with Giants 2022 second-round pick Wan'Dale Robinson during college doesn't hurt, either. It'll be interesting to see if Levis can play well enough this fall to remain the third-best option in a quarterback class headlined by Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud.
For now, the Giants have odds set at +8000 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
