Giants Fans Will Hate Todd McShay's First 2022 NFL Mock Draft
By Larry Rupp

The New York Giants are about to finish with a losing record for the fifth consecutive season, which is understandably causing a lot of frustration in their fan base. Taking advantage of having two early first round picks in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft would be the first step in turning things around.
The fans are not going to be happy when they see who Todd McShay projects the team to take in his first 2022 NFL mock draft, though. The Giants are slated to take Purdue defensive end George Karlaftis at No. 5 overall before taking Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean with the No. 7 overall pick.

Giants Mock Draft
This is not saying that Karlaftis or Dean are going to be horrible NFL players by any means. In fact, both defensive playmakers have the skill set needed to be Day 1 starters and the motor to stay in the league for years. The simple fact is that neither of these picks address the Giants' biggest need.
This offensive line grades as one of the worst in the NFL and is the main reason the Giants have not been able to improve offensively in 2021. Quarterback Daniel Jones has been hit in the pocket numerous times and is leading an offense that averages the sixth-fewest points per game (17.8).
McShay has the Giants passing on Mississippi State offensive lineman Charles Cross and rather believes they will bolster the defensive line. It is much easier to find pass rushers in free agency than it is reliable OL starters. Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see what happens when the draft kicks off on April 28.
