The Georgia Bulldogs found some success in the 2020 NCAA college football season, finishing with an 8-2 overall record which culminated with a victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats at the Peach Bowl. With the 2021 season quickly approaching, the odds are looking promising that Georgia will find even more success.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bulldogs have +190 odds to win the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship. Georgia joins the Alabama Crimson Tide (-160) as the only other team to have odds better than +1200, which makes the SEC Championship picture a two-team race.

Georgia Bulldogs SEC Championship Odds

The Bulldogs have won 13 SEC titles in their history, trailing only the Crimson Tide (28) in that regard. However, Georgia is enduring a bit of a title drought as they've managed just one conference championship victory (2017) in the last 15 years. Still, things are shaping up to be a promising year for Georgia.

Head coach Kirby Smart will once again be returning to his position for the sixth straight season. With him having a 52-14 record in his tenure with the team, it's easy to imagine the Bulldogs continuing their success under Smart once again.

Another thing that Georgia has going for itself is that junior quarterback JT Daniel will, once again, be under center. A candidate to win the 2021 Heisman Trophy at +1200 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, Daniel is coming off of a season that saw him record 1,231 passing yards and 10 touchdowns to 2 interceptions in just four games last season. If he can continue reaching his potential, Georgia has a good chance at challenging Alabama for the SEC title.

Looking at the bigger picture, FanDuel Sportsbook has listed the Bulldogs as having +500 odds (3rd) to win the 2021 National Championship — which is quite disappointing to some. Nevertheless, the fact that Georgia is expected to compete with Alabama to win the SEC Championship could lay the groundwork for the Bulldogs to go all the way as the season progresses.
