George Kittle Injury Update Crushes Week 10 Fantasy Outlook for Monday Night Football

One week removed from scoring his second touchdown of the season in a "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers' tight end George Kittle seems likely to miss Monday night's NFC West showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.

The injury is poorly timed for the Niners as they put their undefeated record on the line against the two-loss Seahawks. The season's first meeting between the two sides could go a long way to deciding not only the NFC West, but perhaps even a first-round bye in the playoffs.

For fantasy owners, the injury is equally as impactful. Given the volatility at the position and Kittle's consistency this season, it's not going to be possible to find a replacement that offers nearly the value that Kittle does. Additionally, the game taking place on Monday night means you can't afford to hold out hope that he plays, because if he's ruled out then you will have missed your chance on starting most of the viable alternatives.

If you are interested in waiting for the final word on Kittle and trying to handcuff him, backup Garrett Celek carries his own injury concerns. The eight-year veteran has not yet played a snap this season, and although he is projected to make his debut on Monday, it has not been made official.

No matter where you go, this Niners tight end picture is certainly clouded. If you have options outside of this game, Week 10 might be the perfect time to deploy them. Even accounting for Kittle sitting out, Celek does not crack the top 12 tight ends in our Week 10 PPR fantasy football rankings. If you're a Kittle owner in a tough spot, you'll want to consider one of the week's top streaming tight end options.
