Less than a year after smashing 29 home runs along with a solid .274 batting average, the 2022 campaign hasn't exactly been easy going for San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt. The 12-year Giant hasn't played since May 18, marking nearly a month stuck on the 10-day IL with right knee inflammation.
Manager Gabe Kapler shared another discouraging injury update on his veteran corner infielder on Saturday night.
Brandon Belt Injury Update
According to Giants insider Susan Slusser, Kapler didn't "sound hopeful" in regards to Belt's impending return, which could be pushed back a few days at this point.
Belt could've returned to the Giants lineup as early as Sunday. But based on Kapler's latest comments, it's unclear when Belt will find himself ready to return.
The veteran was absent from the lineup once again on Sunday, so it could be a handful of days before he's ready to suit up again.
