The Seattle Seahawks made the postseason in 2020, but failed to make it past the Wild Card round for the second time in the last three seasons. They head into this offseason with a lot of moves to make if they want to improve their roster and be ready to compete with the top tier NFL teams.
However, Seattle may not have the chance to do that in the upcoming NFL draft due to the fact that they have the least amount of selections in the entire league. With just three draft picks overall, the Seahawks will not choose a player until the second round.
Seattle Seahawks Draft Picks
Although the Seahawks finished 12-4 last season, there were obvious underlying issues on the team that needs to be addressed. For example, the Seahawks defense gave up 278.2 passing yards per game in 2020, which ranked as the third-highest amount in the NFL.
A team can only be carried by their offense for so long before it starts to crumble. It looks like the Seahawks will need to make some crucial free agent signings or else they won't have the depth necessary to keep up with what is expected to be a strong NFC West division.
It'll be interesting to see whether head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider are able to find a way to increase the the team's number of draft picks or not. No matter what, the NFL draft is set to take place at the end of April and the Seahawks will need to be very smart about their selections.
