This offseason brought a number of changes to the Atlanta Falcons' roster. Releasing quarterback Marcus Mariota shows that the team is ready to move forward with Desmond Ridder, while signing safety Jessie Bates proves upgrading the defense remains a priority prior to the 2023 campaign.

The 2023 NFL Draft is one obvious way to bring in young talent to immediately address the weak spots on the roster. With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about the Falcons' draft capital ahead of April.

How Many Draft Picks Do the Falcons Have in 2023?

The Falcons are currently set to enter the 2023 NLF Draft with eight picks at their disposal. Atlanta's batch of selections is headlined by its first-rounder, which is slated to be at No. 8 overall. The team owns picks in every round of the draft except the sixth, including two choices in the fourth and seventh.

Picking toward the beginning of the first round gives the Falcons a great chance to land a top-five prospect if one falls for whatever reason. Ahead of the draft, some of Atlanta's biggest needs are at the edge rusher, offensive line and cornerback positions.

Having a ton of mid-round selections also presents an opportunity for the front office to package those together in a trade to hopefully move up at some point in the draft. Putting any of its five picks from rounds four through seven on the table could entice another team to say yes to a deal.

Falcons 2023 Compensatory Picks

Although Atlanta did lose leading tackler Foye Oluokun in free agency, it did not qualify for any compensatory due to the players its front office added during the 2022 offseason.
