Tyler Anderson is staying in Los Angeles, but not with the Dodgers.

The veteran southpaw is jumping from the Dodgers to the Angels after signing a three-year, $39 million contract with the Halos on Tuesday. The full details of Anderson's new deal were released on Wednesday.

While MLB contracts often include deferred money or performance incentives (especially for pitchers), Anderson's is pretty straightforward. His is structured so that he'll receive exactly $13 million for each of the next three years.

That's a considerable raise for the 32-year-old, who made $8 million with the Dodgers in 2022 and has earned roughly $16 million in career salary to this point. The bump is certainly warranted after Anderson made the All-Star team last year, going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA.

The Angels are hopeful he can repeat that performance in Anaheim, where he'll join Shohei Ohtani in the rotation. The team has consistently struggled to build an effective pitching staff in recent years, but perhaps Anderson can help change that.
