Mitch Haniger's market is heating up.
The All-Star outfielder has already drawn considerable interest on the free agent market and was recently linked to two more teams. In addition to the Atlanta Braves in the NL, the Minnesota Twins have emerged as a potential AL destination.
Mitch Haniger Free Agency Rumors
Haniger has generated some serious buzz this offseason despite coming off an injury-marred 2022.
Haniger, 31, appeared in just 57 games last season for the Seattle Mariners, slashing .246/.308/.429 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. He was an All-Star in 2018, however, and finished 2021 with 39 homers and 100 RBIs, showing what he's capable of when healthy.
Accordingly, it's not hard to see why the Twins are interested. Minnesota could desperately use some thump in the outfield around Byron Buxton, even if it may be from a player that can also have trouble staying healthy.
Wherever he ends up, Haniger will try to prove he can stay healthy and remain productive heading into his age-32 season. If he does, he could turn out to be a great addition to someone's lineup.
Prior to making any major offseason moves, the Twins are tied for 19th with +6000 odds to win the World Series in 2023 according to FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
