LeBron James has taken a lot of criticism throughout his career, some of which has been warranted and some of which has not. When you spend two decades in the NBA, that just comes with the territory.
James has been a polarizing figure, to be sure, not to mention a lightning rod for controversy. His detractors have always been quick to pick apart his accomplishments, even his four NBA championships.
His most recent title, which he won with the Los Angeles Lakers in the "Covid bubble" in 2020, has been especially contentious. Former NBA player Evan Turner made it clear where he stands on James' fourth ring with his most recent comments.
Even though it's been more than two years since Turner played his last NBA game, it sounds like he's still a little salty over James' 2020 championship. He's hardly the only one, as many NBA players and fans don't feel that title is legitimate given the unusual circumstances and lack of fans.
James hasn't helped his case by failing to effectively defend his title. The Lakers have had a losing record and haven't won a playoff series since then, so another championship doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon. Los Angeles is currently tied for the 16th-best odds (+6500) to win the 2023 NBA Finals on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.
