Former First-Round Saints Defender Announces Retirement
The New Orleans Saints drafted long-time safety Kenny Vaccaro with the No. 15 overall pick back in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Vaccaro went on to spend five very productive seasons with the Saints before signing and playing three years with the Tennessee Titans.
On Wednesday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Vaccaro announced his retirement from the league after eight seasons.
Vaccaro will be immediately moving into a post-retirement venture, and will be launching an Esports organization named G1 or Gamers First.
The long-time NFL safety started 109 of the 110 games played through his eight-year career and totaled 10 career interceptions, more than 600 combined tackles and 44 passes defended.
Vaccaro was named to the 2013 NFL All-Rookie Team.
