The Washington Commanders have known one ownership group in the 21st century, but that could be coming to a change soon. Dan Snyder, owner of the team since 1999, announced Wednesday that he and co-CEO Tanya Snyder hired Bank of America Securities to "consider potential transactions."

The news sent shockwaves through the NFL and the fanbase, one that's endured just six winning seasons in the last two decades. Reports have already emerged about entrepreneurs preparing to make a bid on buying the franchise from one of the most polarizing figures in football.

Bloomberg reporter Kamaron Leach revealed Bryon Allen plans to make a bid. A former comedian, Allen is the head of a media company called Entertainment Studios. He was previously linked to the purchase of the Denver Broncos, a team sold to the Walton-Penner family ownership group in June.
