Final Kentucky Derby Future Pool Wagering ahead of 2023 Florida Derby and Arkansas Derby

Bettors looking for a final chance to place advance wagers on the 2023 Kentucky Derby can do so this weekend and starting Thursday, March 30. The final pool of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager (Pool 6) ends at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 1 - just ahead of the Florida Derby (6:40 ET) and Arkansas Derby (7:50 ET).

Finding a potential Kentucky Derby runner at longer odds ahead of the biggest Kentucky Derby prep races is possible. The higher odds come with greater risk, as a horse not yet qualified for the Kentucky Derby might not get a top 2 or 3 finish in this week's biggest Derby prep races to earn enough points.

But anticipating a strong effort and finish can pay off with added value when wagering at FanDuel Racing. Prior to winning last week's Louisiana Derby, Kingsbarns was 43/1 in Pool 5 of the KDFW March 10-12, and 35/1 ahead of the race at FanDuel Racing and many sportsbooks offering fixed odds to win the Kentucky Derby. After winning the Louisiana Derby, Kingsbarns odds dropped sharply to 18/1, 14/1 and the horse is now 8/1 at FanDuel Racing and many sportsbooks offering fixed odds. Florida Derby favorite Forte (4/5) is also the 5/2 favorite in Pool 6 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Both Kingsbarns (20/1) and Louisiana Derby runner-up Disarm (40/1) have longer odds in the KDFW Pool 6 and better prices than any fixed odds at the sportsbooks. Same with Arkansas Derby favorites Reincarnate (5/2) and Red Route One (3/1), who have 20/1 and 25/1 odds in Pool 6 of the KDFW.
