Fantasy Golf Picks
As the sports world begins to reopen, the PGA is one of the first leagues to come back in the live sports realm with the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge beginning this Thursday, June 11.
With a loaded field of the world's top players all coming in well rested, let's take a look at three guys to watch out for when putting together your fantasy team this week.
Charles Schwab Fantasy Picks
Prior to the season being suspended, no one on tour was playing better golf than Rory McIlroy, which is probably a big reason he sits atop the odds to win this one, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He already had snagged one win to go along with a whopping six top-10 finishes. He was first in scoring average and No. 2 on tour in both driving distance and holes per eagles, both of which should translate to success in this event. If McIlroy comes out playing close to the way he was, it's tough not to imagine him near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.
Jordan Spieth making this list is much less about his recent play and all about his history at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. A local Dallas-Fort Worth area kid, Spieth got his first tour win as a professional here and has five top-15 finishes and three top-2 finishes. While we haven't seen the dominant side of Spieth in a couple years now, but if there's any course that can bring it out of him, it has to be this one.
Tony Finau was the runner-up at this tournament last year and has played a solid 16 rounds on this course, so his familiarity clearly translates to success. His long driver (306.3-yard average) paired with his excellent ball-striking ability (No. 36 on tour in Greens in Regulation) should continue to make him a threat at this course. With three top-10 finishes already this season before play was suspended, Finau will be looking to build upon a good start.
