If you didn't get the opportunity to make a vital add earlier this week, there are still some players available on the waiver wire that could give your fantasy team the boost it needs to close out Week 6 on a high note.

Here are five fantasy baseball players that are worth a mid-week pickup.

1. Derek Dietrich, 1B/2B/OF, Cincinnati Reds

If no one in your league has beat you to the punch, adding Derek Dietrich to your roster should be priority number one. The 29-year-old has been swinging one of the hottest bats in the MLB lately, batting .368 with four dingers and eight RBI in his last 19 at-bats. Dietrich is available in 65 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, but his ownership has spiked by 30 percent in recent days. Pick him up before it's too late.

2. Chris Taylor, 2B/SS/OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Taylor had a pretty slow start to the 2019 season, but he's come on strong as of late and has become an elite fantasy option over the past week. The 28-year-old utility man is batting an unreal .429 with two homers and six RBI across his last 21 at-bats. Taylor is still available in 60 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so pick him up if you're in need of middle infield depth.

3. Hunter Renfroe, OF, San Diego Padres

After snapping out of an 0-for-12 slump in the first week of May, Renfroe has been on an absolute tear and has been one of fantasy baseball's best plays over the past week. The 27-year-old outfielder is batting .333 with three homers and seven RBI over his last 21 at-bats. Renfroe is available in 69 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so pick him up if you're in need of outfield help.

4. Brandon Woodruff, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Woodruff had a pretty ugly start to the 2019 season, but he's really locked things down as of late and should be picked up immediately. The 26-year-old righty has been absolutely dominant in his last three starts, going 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched. Woodruff is available in 64 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so pick him up if you need quality starter.

5. Mychal Givens, RP, Baltimore Orioles

Wins won't come often for the Orioles, but Givens is worth a flier considering how hard saves are to come by at this point in the season. Baltimore's closer has been lights-out in his last four appearances, notching three saves while striking out seven across 5.2 scoreless innings. Givens is available in 49 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so you have a coin-flip chance he's still available.
