FanDuel Fantasy Golf Picks for The American Express at La Quinta Country Club

With the new PGA Tour season in full swing, PGA Tour pros are heading to California for The American Express.
Let's take a look at some golfers to consider when putting together your fantasy team this week.
The American Express Fantasy
Patrick Cantlay:
Patrick Cantlay has played in this event twice before: last year and in 2019. He finished No. 2 and No. 9, respectively, in those two events. While Cantlay has only participated in one event so far this season, he was great in it, grabbing a T-4 finish against a loaded field at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. The field he goes up against this week is good, but not out of this world. He should be in a great positon to place near the top in this one again, coming back to a place he's had success with plenty of rest.
Abraham Ancer:
Coming off a really solid season in 2021, Ancer is having his ups and downs this season. Ancer has three top-15 finishes and one top-10 finish in six starts this season, but he also has two missed cuts in there as well. However, he comes back to an event he's had some real success at in the past. He has finished in the top-five the last two years at this event, and had a top-20 finish the year before that in 2019. Despite missing the cut last week, expect Ancer to regain his form here at a place he's comfortable.
Adam Hadwin:
More of a value play here, Adam Hadwin is at a great number for someone with this good of a resume at this event. While he has never won it, for four consecutive years from 2016-2019, Hadwin finished 6th, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd. An unbelievable run. He's struggled a bit to start this season, but has still made five consecutive cuts and did come away with a No. 6 finish at the Shriners Children's Open. Despite this slower start, Hadwin still ranks No. 26 on tour in Strokes Gained (SG): Total.
