The 2021 NFL season saw the Atlanta Falcons finish with a sub-.500 record for the fourth straight season. Needless to say, some major improvements are needed this offseason.

Free Agency Predictions

NFL.com gave a prediction for each team a free agent could be matched with this offseason, and the Falcons are projected to add an exciting playmaker in the form of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup.

Falcons Free Agent Rumors

The Falcons' wide receiver situation is an interesting one, to say the least. Calvin Ridley is the only noteworthy wideout under contract, but there are rumors that he could be on his way out after missing most of the 2021 season due to mental health-related reasons.

Even if Ridley doesn't get traded, the Falcons need another credible option at the wide receiver position. Fortunately, Gallup fits the bill.

The 6-foot-1, 198-pound WR has spent the last four seasons with the Cowboys. He's caught 193 balls in 55 games over that stretch, turning them into 2,902 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Gallup is also coming off an ACL tear that he suffered last season, so his asking price likely isn't as high as it could be. That's great news for a Falcons team with -$6.59 million in cap space, according to Spotrac.

If the Falcons want to bounce back and become a key player in the NFC again, signing a player of Gallup's abilities is a way to get one step closer to that goal.
