Even in the midst of a disappointing 2022 campaign (partly from usage), the Atlanta Falcons missed tight end Kyle Pitts sorely in their Week 5 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pitts was ruled out with a hamstring injury and logged a trio of limited participant statuses throughout the week of practice.
Fortunately, the Falcons' offense will be getting a major boost ahead of Week 6's clash with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kyle Pitts Injury Update
Although Pitts is technically "questionable" for Sunday's tilt, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Saturday that Pitts is expected to suit up. He'll technically still be a "game-time decision" but is on track to play.
A year after pacing the Falcons offense with 110 targets, Pitts ranks firmly behind rookie Drake London in that statistical category. He's logged just 22 targets, a full 17 behind his counterpart. Adding to the frustration is Pitts logging just 10 receptions on those 22 targets, for a disappointing 150 yards and 0 TDs.
Marcus Mariota and the offense need to get Pitts more involved with the offense if they hope to improve upon their 2-3 record. Week 6's clash is a tall task. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds peg the Falcons as 4.5-point home underdogs for the 1 p.m. matchup.
