Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley made an early exit in Week 8, due to what was eventually diagnosed as a mid-foot sprain. He sat the entire second half of the Thursday Night Football matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Falcons fans can take some comfort in the latest update, however, which makes it sound like this injury isn't all too serious.

Still missing practice and being considered day-to-day isn't a great sign for his availability in Week 9, but the Falcons then have a bye week. It seems like a safe bet that Ridley will be back (and hopefully at full strength) in Week 11, when Atlanta returns to take on the New Orleans Saints.

Ridley has firmly established himself as one of the NFL's best wide receivers this year, ranking No. 5 at the position with 657 yards and No. 7 with 6 touchdowns through eight games.

Needless to say, the Falcons and fans in Atlanta will have their fingers crossed that Ridley doesn't lose a step when he's back in action.
