The Atlanta Falcons' offense took a huge hit when star Julio Jones was knocked out of Week 11's matchup against the New Orleans Saints with a hamstring injury. Atlanta has positive momentum heading into Week 13, though, following a win over the Las Vegas Raiders without Jones in the lineup.
It appears the Falcons could have their dominant wideout back for this Sunday's game against the Saints after Jones made progress in practice on Friday. He is officially listed as questionable.
It's great news that Jones at least has a chance to play in the Falcons' divisional clash. After sitting out practice earlier in the week, he was an active participant on Friday.
With Jones out against the Raiders in Week 12, Matt Ryan spread out his targets to Calvin Ridley (9), Hayden Hurst (8), Ito Smith (5) and Russell Gage (5) in the 43-6 win.
While Jones has struggled with injuries this year, he is averaging 7.3 targets, 5.6 receptions and 84.6 yards per game in the eight contests he's appeared. He has racked up three performances with at least 130 yards, topping out at 157 yards in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Atlanta will need its star wideout if the team hopes to upset the 9-2 Saints, whose defense is ranked second in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric.
