The latest elite wide receiver to emerge in the Atlanta Falcons organization is Calvin Ridley, who erupted with 100-plus yards in four of his first five games this season. He has been on the shelf since Week 8, however, when he suffered a foot injury.
The latest injury news on Ridley is a great update for the Falcons, however, and it looks like he has a chance to return in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints.
He wasn't a full participant at practice by any stretch, but the fact that he's resumed running is a great sign. Interim head coach Raheem Morris also noted that Ridley is expected to start going through individual drills and even a bit of team work on Wednesday.
If Wednesday's practice goes well, it's hard to imagine Falcons fans won't see him back on the field Sunday.
That should mean big things for Atlanta's offense. Matt Ryan averaged 311.6 passing yards per game across the seven full games Ridley played, but he hasn't topped 300 yards in either of the last two.
Even with one of their top playmakers potentially returning, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Falcons as 4.5-point road underdogs this week in New Orleans.
