The Atlanta Falcons were unable to contain a ferocious offensive attack from Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in a 35-17 Week 7 loss. Unfortunately, that loss stings a bit more after the team received some bad news on a couple of injuries to key members of the secondary.

The lone bright spot in Atlanta's defensive performance, safety Jaylinn Hawkins, is included in that update.

Atlanta Falcons Injury News

Falcons insider Michael Rothstein reported on Monday morning that the team already ruled Hawkins out for Week 8 after putting him in concussion protocol. Hawkins' 11 tackles tied his season-high and helped him record the highest PFF rating of any team member (76.9) in Week 7.

Not only is Hawkins out for Week 8, but Rothstein indicated that cornerback AJ Terrell is also considered "week-to-week." Terrell played a season-low 12% of the defensive snaps as he battles his own injury issues, which likely played a big factor in Cincinnati's offensive explosion.

The Falcons will head home for a divisional matchup with the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, a game where Atlanta is favored by 6.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
