With NFL free agency in full swing and the Draft on the horizon, FanDuel Sportsbook has released the full list of projected NFL win totals to bet on ahead of the 2020 campaign.
Falcons Win Total 2020
With plenty of teams to argue over at first glance, let's take a look at the Atlanta Falcons, who appear to be nothing short of disrespected by an opening 2020 NFL season projected 7.5-win total.
Despite both a disastrous and shocking 1-7 start to the 2019 season, which included a seven-game slide from Week 2 to Week 8, the Atlanta Falcons closed out the regular season arguably stronger than any other team in the league.
Matt Ryan and company rallied to win six of its last eight games in the second half of last year, which does set a great precedent for a better start to the 2020. The Falcons have lost one key contributor in TE Austin Hooper in free agency, but this offense can still rest assured behind the likes of WR weapons like Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley.
While Atlanta has also released RB Devonta Freeman to the open market this offseason, he wasn't nearly the factor he had proven in previous seasons amid injury concerns as well. And the Falcons have already signed one of the NFL's most high-upside talents in former Georgia Bulldogs and Los Angeles Rams star RB Todd Gurley to a one-year, $5 million deal.
Wins never come easy in the NFL, but if last year's team can find a way to rally from debilitating 1-7 hole at the halfway point in the season to finish one game below .500, it's safe to say this team has a shot to finish one game better in 2020.
And with a little bit of remaining cap space to spend this offseason, it's very possible that this roster gets even better by adding a veteran talent like Cameron Wake at edge rusher to bolster this Atlanta defensive front.
